I’m really excited to announce the free screening of the film Breath of the Gods in Aberystwyth on Sat 4th October (2014) in Aberystwyth Arts Centre at 12 noon. The showing is open to all and after the film (c. 100 mins) there will be time for chatting and socialising with fellow yoga people. The showing is being organised as a ‘private’ screening so you do not need to book with the Arts Centre – just turn up! (First come, first seated, the cinema holds 100 people.)
The film’s subtitle is “A journey to the origins of modern yoga” and it was released in 2013. Although the origins of yoga itself can be dated back 3000 or 5000 years, modern yoga orginated around 100 years ago, particularly the approaches created by T. Krishnamacharya (1888-1989). The film features historical footage, re-enactments and yoga legends B. K. S. Iyengar and Pattabhi Jois.
Whether you’re new to yoga, been practising for years or a yoga teacher, the film is bound to have something of interest for you.
You can read more about the film and watch a trailer on their website.
This screening has been organised by local yoga group Yoga i Bawb and fellow BWY yoga teachers, following a donation from a local yoga group (Yoga Club) that has ceased.
