It’s International Yoga Day (21st June) and in the northern hemisphere it’s the summer solstice as well. Whilst it was raining in northern India where the Prime Minister of India celebrated the day with an outdoor practice and thousands of people, here in the UK we are having an unusual summer heatwave – in time for the summer solstice!
International Yoga Day is being marked around the world, as can be seen in some of these pictures on the Telegraph’s website.
Nearer to home, my mat yoga needs to accomodate others who wish to take part! (See picture below!)
Whether you’ve got five minutes, 15 minutes or 50 minutes, see if you can set aside some time for pranayama (breath practice), asana (postures and movement), and meditation today, on International Yoga Day.
