I’m looking forward to starting my own yoga class in Dumfries from January 21st 2019. After a break of six months from teaching a weekly class (due to moving and other things), it’ll be great to get back into teaching regularly. I’ve enjoyed being able to cover for other local teachers in the interim – not least so that I’m not too rusty at teaching!
If you’re in/near Dumfries and are looking for a new yoga class, this class will bring physical and mental benefits in a relaxed and informal environment whilst exploring what the body can do.
My new class will be an intermediate level class, ideal for anyone with previous experience of yoga, and/or anyone with a reasonable level of fitness and perhaps a sports background who is looking to add yoga to their weekly exercise. We will explore different areas of focus each week, and as well as the postures (asana) and movement, we will work on different breathing techniques (pranayama) and include time for meditation mindfulness and relaxation. All these things can help improve the body and can reduce stress and tension.
If you are unsure if the class will be right for you, come along and give it a go. I’m also happy to advise on other classes in the area which may be more appropriate for you, and there are lots of gentle or beginner classes if you are new to yoga. The full list of 20+ Dumfries classes is here.

It’s a drop in class, no need to pre-book. Costs £6 / class, with concessions available. Class pass loyalty card also available. Mats provided but you can also bring your own. Wear/bring warm layers.
