I’m very excited to be delivering a new workshop on understanding and managing chronic (persistent) pain with yoga, breathing and guided relaxation.

Manage chronic pain with yoga, breathing and guided relaxation

Saturday 4th May 2019, 10am – 12:30pm, Wellness Centre, 9 George Street Meuse, Dumfries, DG1 1HH

This workshop will focus on the modern theory of pain science and the implications for your chronic pain. You will learn the latest ideas about persistent pain and your experience of it, along with beneficial yoga movements, breathing practices and relaxation techniques which can help you understand, manage and potentially reduce your pain. Each delegate will receive a handout with a summary of the theory, exercises and further useful resources. Help yourself to get better.

£25 – Booking essential – this will be a small group with limited spaces. Book directly using the online booking form and I will confirm your place on receipt of the form. Payment due on the day if paying by cash or cheque, or the day before if paying by bank transfer. Any problems with the form do get in touch.

Who should attend?

The workshop is ideal for anyone with chronic or persistent pain who is looking for ways to help manage and overcome their experience of pain. You should have enough mobility to be able to sit (on a chair or on a yoga mat with blocks) and undertake gentle yoga movements from a range of lying, sitting and standing positions. There will be periods of discussion, movement, guided meditation and relaxation. There will also be a short break with refreshments provided.

What to bring – something for taking notes (pen & paper or mobile device); comfy layers of clothes; water bottle; a blanket if you want for the relaxation sessions; anything you specifically need to be comfy; and an open mind!

Location: The Wellness Centre is just off the main street near the Burns Statue, alongside Greyfriars Church in the middle of Dumfries. The mews lane can be access from Academy Street or from George Street. Pedestrian access only.

If you have any questions about the workshop do get in touch.
